Type Book
I have started a book to practise my typefaces. I get ideas from all over the place, but this type is a take on Manuel Manilla's type, with my own 3D twist. At the moment, I take aspects of other artist's texts and add my own thang, I hope to just come up with shitloads of my own fancy writings soon!
The first page, just coming up with some ideas for my Birmingham bands zine, or should it be 'Birmingha' ??

Object: Judas Cradle
These are the first few pictures for the object brief where I have to find a chair and reseach it and draw stuff about it.
I have chosen the Judas Cradle torture Chair, in which you wore an iron belt attached to rope and you were hoisted into the air. You were then lowered down and the point of the pyramid was i nserted into your vagina or anus as a form of torture. You might have been rocked on the chair causing excruciating pain or lowered up and down so there was different pressures causing equally as much pain. Sometimes, you might have been hoisted up for the night and the torture continued in the morning, prolonging your life that little bit extra so you could experience more pain.
This incredible equipment was designed in the Medieval era by the Spanish Inquisition and was used to torture you if you were not devolt Catholic or were against the Catholic church in anyway. So people like Jews and suspect witches would have definitely had a little go on this chair. Groosssss!

I did a bit of drawing too
Even though the actual craft of this drawing is a bit wack, I still like it because of the felt tips and the use of the sketchbook cover. The drawing will also give me fond memories of skating up and down the promenade on Brooklyn with spectacular views of Manhattan.
Here are some crazy doodles of the busyness at the Museum of Modern Art, while I was waiting for my chums to emerge from the bookshop.
I got fed up of the Parade crowds so I left to get a coffee instead and whilst of was sipping away on my Starbucks Cappuccino, I drew the pretzel stand I could see from inside.
Walking around Central Park after the Thanks-giving Parade, I came across this dude playing Sax. Every time a child walked past, he interrupted his own playing by playing a children's tune such as 'Old Macdonald.' I thought that was sweet. This meant that I didn't mind people walking in front of me as I was drawing.
I was furiously trying to scribble kids playing in Central park and I came up with this piece of atrocious-ness. It does look much better now I've scanned it though.

New Attack on Cancer with Nano Weapon
This is my final illustration for the newspaper headline. Bit of a funny one as I thought i'd be clever and 'ahead of the game' by starting on my final image before my tutors had seen the roughs. The 'original' was done in a superhero comic book style with big lettering, images jumping out of their framed boxes and a composition that was a bit too exciting for such a serious topic. I didn't want to be seen as taken the subject light-heartedly so after talking to my tutors, I felt it was best to have a mellowed down version as shown below.
