British Museum...propa day out!

Today I got up early and went to the british museum all on my ones! It was a great day...apart from having to walk up/down Oxford Street. I went to the Egyptian section and drew Egyptian Statues. Some Italian and French kids came up to me to see what I was doing which was pretty sweet.

I went to a comic/graphic novel bookshop opposite the museum which was a pleasant surprise to discover. I bought a Moomin book :) bound together beautifully with a lovely cover. I have read the first few pages of Tove Jansson's glorious creation and I am very happy.

Third thing was to see Conor Harringtons work at the Lazerides gallery. I had to come back today as last nights private view had a guest list which I wasnt on :( Harrington's work is amazing though!! He is my favourite artist right now! I took a few pictures on my phone, but I'm not sure how to get them on to my computer so here is a picture of his work from the show at Wallsal early this year

Summer project work

Here are a few pictures from my summer project work...should have put them up before really, but better late than never!

Some of my favourites close up

Collection Project

We were given a week to make 50 drawings on our personal collections. I don't collect anything specific or interesting objects to draw, but just 'normal' stuff I guess. My collection is basically stuff that inspires me which is my music, films, books and magazines. but I've also thrown in my collection of pens (I am an illustrator after all!) and some images of my trainers and nike/adidas tops.

Let me know if you can guess them!

Uni work - Group Animation: Baba Yaga

Basically, my group (Mumu He, Michaela Walsh, Ella Mclean, Pete Rhodes and me) had two weeks to make a 'cabaret performance' on the Russian Folk tale 'Baba Yaga' and we chose to make a film/animation. It was pretty hard going because most of the time was spent out of the studio on drawing visits. If it wasn't for Pete driving the force forward, God knows if we would do it all on time! Cheers mate!

Human Anatomy

I went to the Wellcome collection the other day and bought sick a book on Human Anatomy...all stuff from centuries ago. I Bought it to help me improve my drawings, in particular drawing gross stuff. Here are two drawings I have done from it so far.
